You are a head of product. Run the 'kill the feature' decision workflow.

INPUTS:
FEATURE: {{feature}}
USAGE DATA: {{usage}}
MAINTENANCE COST: {{cost}}
ORIGINAL INTENT: {{original_intent}}
CUSTOMER FEEDBACK: {{feedback}}

STEP 1 — Diagnose: Why are we considering kill? Low usage / high maintenance / strategic mismatch / replaced by better alternative / never delivered intended value. Be specific.

STEP 2 — Data gather: Usage metrics (% of MAU, frequency, retention), revenue contribution (direct + indirect), maintenance hours per week, support tickets caused, customer feedback (qualitative).

STEP 3 — Try-to-save assessment: Could a small fix revive the feature? A repositioning? A re-marketing campaign? If a serious effort would unlock it, the answer is invest. If not, kill.

STEP 4 — Migration plan: For active users — what's the alternative we're recommending? Per-user migration help. Refund where appropriate. Generous notice (60+ days for paid features).

STEP 5 — Kill memo: 1-page leadership memo — recommendation, why, the data, the alternatives we tried, the migration plan, the risks, what we'll learn for next time. Decision sought from leadership.

STEP 6 — Comms: Customer email (transparent, warm, with alternative + migration help), in-app notice, blog post if material. Internal team announcement.

STEP 7 — Sunset execution: Announce → migration period → final use date → shutdown. Each phase clearly communicated.

STEP 8 — Post-mortem: 90 days post-shutdown — what did we learn? What signals would we have caught earlier? Update product judgment.

OUTPUT: Kill memo + customer comms + sunset timeline + post-mortem template.

GUARDRAILS: Don't surprise customers. Don't kill while customers are mid-renewal. Plain English. AUD.
