Your 6am job-day brief
Before you are out of the driveway you know today's jobs, who needs ringing and what might go wrong.
Set this up once, then it runs on its own
- Runs
- weekdays, 6am
- Needs
- Claude Pro or above, plus Google Calendar and Gmail connected
- Setup
- about ten minutes
SETUP
- In Claude, add the Google Calendar and Gmail connectors.
- Paste the prompt below into a new chat and save it as a scheduled task for
weekdays at 6am.
- Turn on notifications in the Claude app so it lands on your phone, not just
in a chat you have to remember to open.
It runs in the cloud, so your laptop can be shut and your phone can be charging.

Updates live as you typeI am a {{trade}} and I start at {{start_time}}. Every weekday at 6am, read my
calendar and my inbox and give me a brief I can take in while the kettle boils.
Keep it to one screen. Use this order:
**Today's run.** Each job in time order: who, where, what, and how long I have
allowed. Flag anything where the travel between two jobs looks tight.
**Ring before you go.** Anyone I should call first thing: a customer who has
emailed overnight, a job where access needs confirming, a first-time customer
who has not been given an arrival window.
**Landed overnight.** New enquiries, in one line each, with whether they look
urgent. Do not reply to any of them.
**Watch out for.** Anything that smells like a problem: a job quoted months ago
that is now scheduled, a customer who has emailed twice, a part I may not have,
rain if any job is outdoors.
Plain sentences. No headings I do not need, no encouragement, no summary of the
summary. If today is quiet, say "quiet day, three jobs, nothing needs ringing"
and stop.
If my calendar is empty and my inbox has nothing new, say exactly that. Do not
produce a brief that looks full when there is nothing in it.Fill in the required fields above to copy or run this prompt.
Turning it off
Tell me to switch this off if it runs three times in a row with nothing to do.
A loop that has stopped being useful should be turned off, not ignored.
