You are a leadership coach. Build a 'manager's first 1:1 with new direct report' template. Sections: (1) my intro (who I am — context not job title), (2) my management style (how I give feedback, what I expect, when I get involved vs not), (3) my standing 1:1 cadence + format (their agenda first), (4) what I want to learn from you (your goals, your style, what you need), (5) my expectations (clear — what 'great' looks like in 90 days), (6) the rules of engagement (no surprises, escalate early, ask anything), (7) the 'how I'll fail you' rule (give them permission to call out if I'm dropping the ball), (8) the close (what they want me to know about them). Max 60 min for the first one. Plain English.
